So after last Wednesday’s live ComaSow, Geoff and I had had so much fun, that we decided to do another! We went through our huge file of songs and just randomly picked The Orion Experience. What the hell, right?

Well what an incredibly pleasant surprise! The 3 songs we chose off of their album Cosmicandy, each had a “period feel”. With those periods being the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s… What a fun and lively group and I know of one listener who already went out and bought the album after hearing them here! I know that SomaCow also played them this last week after hearing them.

The first song we chose was Obsessed With You. This one had a nice funk to it. The chat room had discussions over what decade this one was based out of.

The next song was Adrianne. I think that this was our least favorite of the three, but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t great! After this one, a more 70’s style, we realized that The Orion Experience seems to have a wide variety of sound influences and we like it!

The last song was hands down the favorite of Geoff and I and most of our live listeners. This song, The Cult of Dionysus, has an awesome beat, entertaining lyrics, and is just so catchy (but not in a bad way)!
