Propagandhi has been around for a good 20 years but this week they put out a new album, Supporting Caste so we reviewed it!

I thought I had a wide variety of music knowledge but I had not heard of Propagandhi. Listener AlienFreak said that she loved this band in high school (20 years is a long time so we are NOT dating her, although she did just celebrate a birthday, Happy Birthday!) and loved them so that was a good note to start on.

So after discussing what you would do if you got in an accident, we jump into the first song, “Dear Coach’s Corner”. I had listened to the first few seconds of the song, and thought it sounded upbeat. The live listening audience agreed, but the problems we found were that we had a hard time understanding the lyrics. Geoff was reading along and shared some of the lyrics which were fabulous! They need to be shared and it’s too bad that people can’t understand it unless they read along. Then again maybe by reading them, it will sink in more.

Our 2nd song was “Without Love”. This one got better reviews from the crew in chat. I didn’t like the music as much in this one but the lyrics were a little easier to understand. Geoff thought it sounded like they were trying to fit the lyrics into the music but that they didn’t fit that well.

Our 3rd and final song was “The Banger’s Embrace”. This one had a more celtic (with hard ‘c’s) sound. We found out that Canada has East coast and West coast sounds! This one had more “east coast” per Glenn in our chatroom. Thanks for the lesson Glenn!

Overall we enjoyed Propagandhi and will add them to our hopper.

So our advice to vocalists out there…pronounce and enunciate please!

And here is the Jesus we were talking about:

I thought I had a wide variety of music knowledge but I had not heard of Propagandhi. Listener AlienFreak said that she loved this band in high school (20 years is a long time so we are NOT dating her, although she did just celebrate a birthday, Happy Birthday!) and loved them so that was a good note to start on.

So after discussing what you would do if you got in an accident, we jump into the first song, "Dear Coach's Corner". I had listened to the first few seconds of the song, and thought it sounded upbeat. The live listening audience agreed, but the problems we found were that we had a hard time understanding the lyrics. Geoff was reading along and shared some of the lyrics which were fabulous! Our 3rd and final song was "The Banger's Embrace". This one had a more celtic (with hard 'c's) sound. We found out that Canada has East coast and West coast sounds! This one had more "east coast" per Glenn in our chatroom. Thanks for the lesson Glenn!

Overall we enjoyed Propagandhi and will add them to our hopper.

So our advice to vocalists out there...pronounce and enunciate please!

And here is the Jesus we were talking about:
